Adalverto Rodriguez, age 9, cools off in one of the small waterfalls in Irondequoit Creek at Channing Philbrick Park in Penfield on Tuesday afternoon,  a day of record breaking heat.  He is from the city and was swimming with his mother and siblings. I was sent out late in the afternoon to find a photo that showed how hot it was. I know that people often swim in the creek at this location and I wasn’t disappointed when I found Adalverto and his family playing in the water. I wanted to jump in with them.
