Dead Chickens- 10/04/12- Photo by Kris J. Murante
Today I went to a farm where 43 chickens, raised to produced eggs for farm stand sale, were killed by (presumably) a mink. The farmer said that amount of chickens would produce 2-3 dozen eggs a day, which he sells for $3 a dozen, costing him $6-9 per day. It sometimes amazes me the people I meet, like this man living such a simple life and having the amount of money some of us spend on a coffee matter so much. This image is of him using one of the murdered chickens as bait at a trap in hopes to catch the mink.
