Sometimes in images, it’s the really little things that make me enjoy one picture over another. I shot Mercy’s Gibson Donnan a couple weeks ago, at Sectional finals, more straight on knocking down a gate, so I thought I’d like to change it up for yesterday’s State finals. So, I was editing the images where she was more side by side with me as she darted down the mountain, when I noticed her tongue out. I love the little quirks great athletes have going on when they’re in the zone. Donnan’s tongue sticking out as she is putting together a state championship run, reminds me of Michael Jordan’s tongue sticking out as he making the buzzer beating shot.
