The Hitmen - 5/15/10 - Photo by Annette Lein

I have photographed a million parades in my career so it is always a challenge to make a picture that I personally find interesting. At the Lilac Parade Saturday morning,  I saw “The Hitmen” coming from afar in their brightly colored zoot suits and I thought it would make a nice clean shot as they walked toward me down South Ave. I used a long lens wide open for shallow depth of field and just waited for the group to fill the frame.
